This thread is for the posting of software, information, topics, how-to's and others relating to HD/Blu-Ray or Dvd Ripping or Burning. The burning aspect is rather rudimentary, but there are always new software's coming on on the market for doing so, and I unfortunately am behind the times on re-burning downloaded HD or Blu-Ray movies to disk, and welcome posts relating to those.
As for ripping, there are always new Dvd's coming on the market with new and rather arcane DVD protection schemes (anymore usually related to data corruption), for preventing any but the most determined to rip new movies.
Keep thread's on topic, and do not list that you are attempting copyright infringement by say: Copying a movie you rented for the purpose of burning: Not OK Copying a movie you borrowed from a friend: NOT OK Copying a movie that you OWN and PAID for at a retail outlet: OK Copying a movie you own for the purposes of backup (if like me you have kids that love to destroy) OK Yea Yea, most of your will be pretending, but help keep the feds off my site, and keep my host happy!
Just as a notice, as I am sure Everyone who backs up movies knows. Bypassing Any copy protection on a DVD owned or not is a violation of the DMCA of 2000. (Give your local senator a hug for taking bribes from the MPAA and RIAA on this one...)
